Verona was filled with rage and jealousy, "Why is my husband treating that common maid with so much preference. He now goes out, comes back with a packet for her. Ignoring that I exist. Let me not conclude! I will find out if it's something for her or just house utensils like soap that he brought home and secretly took to her room."

When her husband was resting, she dashed out quickly and bumped into the maid's room unannounced,

"Good afternoon madam," she was shocked to see her madam pushed her door and dashed into her room unexpectedly,

"What is good about this afternoon?"

Then she went straight to the point,

"I saw my husband entering your room with a plastic bag. What did he get for you? Can I see it?"

"Fruits madam, the doctor said fruits are good for a pregnant woman,"

"And you are not even ashamed. Was he there when you were moaning under a useless young man who put you in this condition? Let me have it."

She seized the bag from her hand and was outrageous when she found oranges, watermelon and bananas inside, with some packets of chocolate cubes. Her face became red like the face of a baboon.

"This is not happening. Did you enchant my husband. This your juju will not work."

She dropped the bag on the floor right from her hand and the items poured in the floor. While the oranges and water melon were rolling on the floor, Jaila was struggling to pick them, Verona gazed at her with wrath and went straight to confront her husband.

"Why do you treat me spitefully? Our housemaid is now the person you prefer, is it because she is pregnant and I cannot."

"I am just doing what a good man should do. She needs those things more than you now,"

"Are you trying to use her to get back at me."

"No!" he claimed and suggested, "I was just thinking we could adopt her kids instead of adopting someone's children we don't know."

"Do you now want to employ her to bear kids for us from another man or what do you mean by her kids?"

"She is pregnant with twins."

"What!" she was dumbfounded and spoke within herself, "I am here doing everything to become pregnant and a common maid who cannot barely feed herself is pregnant with twins."

While she was still worried and lost in her thoughts, her husband repeatedly queried, "What do you have to say?"

But she was still daydreaming and he yelled, "Verona!"

"ummm!" she got up from her slumber, "Did you say something?"

"Stop pretending, you didn't get what I said,"

"What did you say?"

"I will prefer, we adopt the kids from our Housemaid,"

"What is it about our Housemaid that our lives suddenly revolves around her,"

"It is simple," he drew her attention, "We have what she needs and she has what we need."

"So without Jaila we cannot adopt kids again."

"You will go to the orphanage and adopt a child you don't know who the parents are or the kind of gene he or she carries in her blood stream. What if someone comes to claim them later."

"What if the guy who impregnated Jaila also comes to claim them in the future,"

"Verona, we will have to sign that the children are ours and she gave them to us willingly. We are rich but childless and she is a fruitful pauper but..."

"No, I can still bear my own children,"

"Then prove me wrong."

And his wife couldn't even understood that he was already doing everything to integrate his biological children into his family. It was the reason he was indirectly protecting Jaila.

"Don't you think we also need to know who is responsible for her pregnancy?"

"It's just some kind of useless random guy."

Her husband responded and walked out and she muttered to herself,

"I must find out who is responsible for her pregnancy and stop this madness on my husband's head."
