.
I muttered to myself, “Where could she be by this time?”
Vivian and I had been communicating online(we met on tweeter) for two months before I decided to bring her over to my place.
A few things I learned about her online was her determination and the way she often checks up on me. We had video called severally. According to what she told me, she's an orphan. I wanted to see if we were truly compatible before taking any serious step. She agreed without hesitation to spend time with me. The journey from her place to mine was roughly 7hrs. When she arrived, I welcomed her warmly. It was month-end, my salary had just been paid and I prepared something. I cooked egusi soup with goat meat coz to me, her arrival deserved something special. Out of joy, I even sháred portions of the soup with some of my neighbours in their flats.
When I served Vivian her plate of eba and soup, she ate everything except the meat.
Surprised, I asked,
“Babe why didn’t you touch the meat?”
She smiled faintly and said,

I buried my curiosity, took the meat, ate it myself and pecked her on the cheek. I thought it was just a random preference but I was wrong. The next day, she prepared rice and stew with fried chicken. Again, she served me generously but her own plate had no trace of meat.
That evening, I sat her down gently.
“Vivian, I don’t like the fact that you don’t eat meat. I’m not fórcing you but at least help me understand. What is the genesis of all this. We’re still getting to know each other, and I don’t want small things like this to cause problem between us.”
She quickly snapped “I said I don’t eat meat, haba! Why do you want to fórce me?! Everyone has their own thing. Please don’t ask me that question again."
Her tone stunned me.
That was the first time I saw a side of her I couldn’t explain. But I let it go.
Days passed.
Now, back to that night.
It was her eight night in my flat.
I noticed her side of the bed was empty that was almost 2am. I checked the sitting room, nothing. The bathroom still empty. My heart began to pound.
"Where would she be?"
Then I went to the small room where she kept her luggage lo and behold, the clothes she wore that night were scattered on the floor as if they had been pulled off in a hurry.
A strange feeling crawled through me. My instincts told me something wasn’t right.
I knelt, unzipped her long rolling bag, and started searching. My hands trembled as I was searching, removing the clothes one by one convinced there was something she was hiding.
Because first, it was her refusal to eat meat…
And now, her sudden disappearance.
I scattered everything and saw some kind of..
